Dragonfly Aerials - About Our Talents
Aerial Silk
“Silks” are long pieces of fabric suspended from the ceiling. Available in just about every color of the rainbow, silks performances can be graceful and strong, or totally silly! We perform solo or duo routines lasting from 60 seconds to 8 minutes. Rigging for silks requires a height of at least 15 feet and not more than 35 feet and a clear area of about 8′ diameter on the floor.
Aerial Hoop
“Lyra”, also known as Aerial Hoop or Cerceau, is a spinning metal ring that perfectly frames the performer. Twisting into interesting shapes and poses, one or two dancers can be ‘flown’ over an audience’s head and is perfect for ambient entertainment. Performances last from 60 seconds to 15 minutes. Rigging requires a ceiling height of 10-20 feet.
Hammock
“Hammock” is a loop of fabric that the performer plays inside and outside of for a wonderful effect. Lights can be projected onto the hammock to enhance the shadowy human form inside. The tricks and poses of a hammock can be sexy, playful, or add a strange element to the atmosphere. Hammock is performed solo, duo, or trio, from 8-20 feet.
“Static trapeze” is a bar suspended by two ropes. The ropes allow wonderful opportunities for displays of fluid strength and creativity. Solo or duo performances, two rigging points are necessary for this apparatus.
Stiltwalkers
“Stiltwalkers” - all of the Dragonflies are very experienced on stilts. 7 to 8-foot performers love to interact with crowds, serve as ushers for an event or hand out promotional materials. Costume possibilities are endless and we are happy to create something special for your event.
